First draft of 2023 budget presented to council

Firefighters responded to almost 200 incidents in October: Report
The Wasaga Beach Fire Department responded to 188 incidents in October.
Members of the department also completed 28 fire and life safety inspections during the month, as well as 34 hours of public education.
Councillor Sasha-Rose Dileo shared the information with council when reporting on the business of the Community Services Section of Coordinated Committee, which met Nov. 24. Dileo chairs the section.

Community Safety Zones coming to Wasaga Beach park areas
Council designated streets in the following park areas as Community Safety Zones.
- Batteaux Park
- Blueberry Trail Park
- Chase Family Park
- Deer Trail Park
- Glendale Park
- Red Berry Park
- Red Oak Park
- Wasaga Estates Park
- Wasaga Village Park
- William Arnill Memorial Park
- Mills Park
- Wasaga Sports Park.
In addition, council approved reducing the speed limit in these park areas. The new limit will be 40 kmh.

Petition received and referred to staff for review
Paul Miller appeared before council to present a petition regarding the planned fencing on the north property line at the new twin-pad arena and library.
The petition calls on the town to increase the height of planned fencing between the site and Villas at Wasaga Meadows to a minimum of 10 feet.

Town, Bayloc, with partner Zancor reach an agreement for the purchase of municipal beachfront property
Council approved selling town-owned land at the beachfront to Bayloc Developments Inc. with Zancor as a partner, subject to a maximum 120-day due diligence period.
