Volunteering for Recreation Department
Welcome to the Recreation Volunteer Program. Recreation volunteers are essential to the operation of the Seniors Active Living Centre, Youth Centre, March Break programs, Summer day camp programs, Sports Tournaments and Recreation department events including Dances, Grill Team and Fundraising events.
Potential volunteers are invited to fill out an online application at anytime. Applications are kept on file, and when a volunteer opportunity is available, potential qualified applicants will be invited to a Volunteer Information presentation.

This initiative has been support by the Ontario Trillium foundation. The funding received has been a true contribution to the inception of this program and is a key element of its overall success. Through this one year program that began February of 2017 the Town has provided volunteer opportunities to hundreds of volunteers who have contributed numerous hours of service. The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) is an agency of the Government of Ontario, and one of Canada’s largest granting foundations. With a budget of over $136 million, OTF awards grants to some 1,000 projects every year to build healthy and vibrant Ontario communities.
